Fifteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Celebration to honor Our Lady of Sorrows feast will take place today at 5:00 PM, beginning with Vespers and Benediction, followed by games and fun on the field. Please bring a potluck dish to share. We invite all parishioners to come celebrate our patroness.

Ember Days: Traditional days of fast and partial abstinence are Friday (complete abstinence), and Saturday, September 23rd and 24th.  This observance was originally instituted to encourage the faithful to pray and do penance for new priests. Please offer your prayers and sacrifices on these days that God may inspire more men to offer themselves for this holy ministry and for the perseverance of those already ordained.

Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: All women of the parish are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, September 20th at 7:00 PM in Boyle Hall. Fr. Pons will give a talk, we will discuss upcoming parish events, then will end with a social hour. Please bring a snack, dessert, or drink to share.

OLOS Bags Tournament: Please join the men of Our Lady of Sorrows, ages 12 and up, for a Bags Tournament sponsored by the Holy Name Society, on Saturday, November 12th. This is an all-day men's event including Mass, food, conference, a corn hole tournament, and much more. Schedule and details to come. To express interest in playing and for questions/details, please email [email protected] or get in touch with Josh Hunstiger.

School Choice: Gov. Ducey recently signed HB 2853 into law, opening the Empowerment Scholarship Account (ESA) to all children in the state of Arizona and giving families the freedom to choose the schooling option that works best for them. The financial impact that the ESA will have on all families cannot be understated. Please help us support school choice by praying, and do not sign any petition from Save Our Schools (SOS). We have until September 24th to deter SOS from collecting enough signatures; otherwise, they will force this law to be postponed until the 2024 ballots. For details, visit the Academy website at:

Novena for Br. Dismas: We encourage the faithful to offer a novena for the intentions of Br. Dismas, who will make his perpetual vows on September 29, 2022. The novena should begin on September 20th, and can be a litany, prayer to the Holy Ghost, or any special prayer of your choice.

Second Collection schedule: October 2nd Special Collection for the SSPX Priest Training Program. Thank you for your generosity.
