Holy Year Pilgrimage to Rome

OVERVIEW

Join a Holy Year pilgrimage to Rome, Narni and Subiaco, Italy, June 24 – July 3, 2025, with Father Pons and Father Vernoy. The pilgrimage is also on occasion of the Feast of the Sacred Heart, June 27, to attend the taking of the habit and vows of the Consoling Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (Vigne di Narni). Duration: 10 days, 9 nights. Register before March 31st for a discounted price.

ITINERARY

Tuesday June 24: arrival at Rome between 2 pm.

Transfer from airport to religious hospitality house. Dinner included in the package and night in Rome. 

Wednesday June 25: Ancient Rome. Morning: Basilica of St. Clement, then outdoor tour: Circus Maximus, Palatine, Colosseum, Forum, Mamertine Prison and Capitoline Hill with the Ara Coeli. Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome.

Thursday June 26: Catacombs and Via Appia with Domine Quo Vadis and San Sebastiano basilica. Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome. 

Friday June 27: Feast of the Sacred Heart. Excursion to Vigne di Narni Sister’s ceremony. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome

Saturday June 28: excursion to Subiaco, the grotto of Saint Benedict, Sacro Speco and the monastery. Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome

Sunday June 29: Feast of St. Peter and St. Paul: morning visit to via della Conciliazione to see the infiorata. Lunch on the banks of the Tiber. The site of St. Paul's martyrdom, the 3 fountains, then St. Paul's Outside the Walls and mass. In the evening, traditional fireworks over the Castel Sant'Angelo! Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome. 

Monday June 30: Vatican: Visit St. Peter's Basilica.
In the afternoon, Trastevere with the Basilica of Santa Maria and the saints: St. Benedict, St. Cecilia, St. Francis, St. Frances Romana, St. Callixtus...
Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome. 

Tuesday July 1: Feast of the Precious Blood. Tour the relics of NS's life brought back to Rome : Sainte Marie-Majeure, Ste Praxède, St Jean de Latran, Scala Santa and Ste Croix-en-Jérusalem. Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome. 

Wednesday July 2: the center of the Rome of the Popes: Piazza Navona, Pantheon, Chiesa Nuova, French Seminary and Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, Piazza di Spagna and Sant'Andrea della Fratte with the apparition of the Blessed Virgin and conversion of the Jew Ratisbonne. Lunch included in the package. Dinner on your own (not included). Night in Rome. 

Thursday July 3: Transfer from hotel to airport. Plane to Phoenix from 12 noon.

NB: Visits in Rome are planned on foot and by public transport. It is recommended to be in good physical shape.
