Twentieth Sunday after Pentecost

The Third Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Rhomel Horne of Phoenix, AZ and Miss Michelle Mule of Phoenix, AZ, who plan to be married on October 25, 2022. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

Movie Night: The Nunc Dimittis group will sponsor a parish movie night on the last Saturday of each month, beginning October 29th with “The Scarlet and the Black.” The movie begins at 5:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Pizza, popcorn, and beverages will be provided. Donations will benefit seminarians of the parish.

Mass Schedule Change: On Sunday, October 30th we will have only two Masses (at 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM) in honor of the Feast of Christ the King. An outdoor procession will begin around 9:30 AM. We will also have Vespers at 6:00 PM.

All Saints Day, Tuesday, November 1st is a Holy Day of Obligation. Mass times: 5:45 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM (sung Mass) and 6:30 PM. There will also be Vespers at 6:00 PM.

All Soul Envelopes are in the vestibule to submit names of the faithful departed to be remembered at daily Mass throughout November. Please include an offering. Envelopes can be placed in the collection basket or turned in to the parish office by October 31, 2022.

The First Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Andrew Lampke of Mesa, AZ and Miss Emily Brennan of Mesa, AZ, who plan to be married on November 11, 2022. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

All Saints Day: The Annual All Saints Day Party will take place Saturday, November 5th. Children are invited to dress as their favorite Saint, we will have Saint themed carnival games, food, and fun!  Donations of candies and small religious prizes for the children can be placed in the bins in Boyle Hall. OLOS Bags (Cornhole) Tournament: Please join the men of Our Lady of Sorrows, ages 12 and up, for a Bags (Cornhole) Tournament sponsored by the Holy Name Society, on Saturday, November 12th. This is an all-day men's event including Mass, food, conference, a cornhole tournament, and much more. Our Lady of Sorrows Academy will hold its 13th Annual Jog-A-Thon on Wednesday, November 23rd. Please consider sponsoring one of our Priests or Brothers with a per-lap pledge or a one-time donation. Christmas Boutique: The Ladies Auxiliary and Young Adult Group will hold a Christmas boutique on November 27th and December 4th. Proceeds benefit parishioners/families in need. We are asking for donations of Christmas crafts and gifts to sell. All donations can be turned in to the church office. For questions/details please contact Molly Forsythe (405-952-4001).

Christmas Giving Tree will be on display during the Christmas Boutique. The ornaments on this tree will list specific items needed by one of our parishioners, particularly at Christmas.
