The Vatican Apostolic Penitentiary has issued a decree extending the Plenary Indulgences for the deceased faithful for the entire month of November, due to current contingencies and restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dear Parishioners,
The Vatican Apostolic Penitentiary has issued a decree extending the Plenary Indulgences for the deceased faithful for the entire month of November, due to current contingencies and restrictions from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Specifically:
- The Plenary Indulgence for those who visit a cemetery and pray for the deceased, normally from November 1 to 8, may be obtained any days during the month of November.
- The Plenary Indulgence of November 2 for those who visit a church or oratory and recite the "Our Father" and "Creed" may be transferred to any day of the month of November.
- The elderly, sick and those who, for serious reasons, cannot leave their homes because of restrictions may obtain the Plenary Indulgence, provided that they are completely detached from sin and with the intention of complying as soon as possible with the usual conditions, and recite pious prayers for the deceased in front of an image of Jesus or the Blessed Virgin Mary.
Please speak with one of our priests if you have any questions regarding this decree.
Thank you, and God bless,
Fr. Pons
