Please pray for the repose of the soul of Gerald Wilhelm, who died on July 25th. The funeral will be Monday, August 2nd here at Our Lady of Sorrows. Visitation in the church at 9:00 AM, rosary at 9:45 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:30 AM.
The Third Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Travis Hestand and Miss Corrina Wilhelm, both of Phoenix, AZ, who plan to be married on August 5, 2021. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

Holy Name Society meeting Wednesday, August 4th at 6:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Fr. Pedersen will give a conference, with discussion and refreshments following. All men interested in learning more about the Holy Name Society are encouraged to attend.
Trail Life Needs Leaders. Trail Life Troop AZ-1571 is moving to a new, more active format and is in need of male volunteer help at all levels. No matter your state in life, experience, availability, or skill level, there is a place for you in Trail Life! Your investment in guiding the boys of this parish to lead lives that are physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight will echo into eternity. All men of the parish are invited to come to the Troop Leadership Orientation on Thursday, August 5th at 7:00 PM, following Benediction, in the Performing Arts Center. Snacks and beverages will be provided.
All Day Adoration on Friday, August 6th begins after 8:30 AM Mass and ends with Rosary and Benediction at 5:45 PM. Sign-up sheet is in the vestibule. Please be sure all time slots are filled to give correct veneration to Our Lord. “Can you not watch one hour with Me?” First Friday Mass follows Benediction at 6:30 PM.
The Simeon and Anna Sodality (Nunc Dimittis, 50 +) will meet Saturday, August 7th after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will meet in the Retreat Chapel to pray the Seven Sorrows devotions and prayers for the book intentions, followed by our meeting and refreshments in Boyle Hall.
Trail Life New Program Year: Trail Life Troop AZ-1571 - our outdoor adventure program for boys - will hold their first troop meeting of the program year with Family Orientation in the PAC on Thursday, August 12th at 7:00 PM, following Benediction. All boys of the parish, ages 5-17, are encouraged to join the troop and attend this meeting with their families.
Altar Flowers Donations: Donation envelopes for purchasing the flowers on the altar can be found in the vestibule. Each envelope is for one week, and lists the Feasts celebrated during that week. You may contribute any or all amount of the flower cost for that week. If interested, please take one envelope and return it to either the Sunday collection basket or to the church office. We are grateful for your generosity.
Manual Labor Assistance: The Holy Name Society men are available to assist parishioners with yard work, maintenance, moving, etc. Any parishioner in need of help, please contact the church office at 602-268-7673 x1 with your request.
Second Collection schedule: August 8th to benefit the Building Fund. August 15th to benefit the Academy. Thank you for your generosity.
