Thirteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Academy Sung Mass for the first day of school 9:00 AM, Tuesday, August 29th. The 8:30 AM Mass is canceled.

All Day Adoration on Friday, September 1st begins after 8:30 AM Mass and ends with Rosary and Benediction at 5:45 PM. Sign-up sheet is in the vestibule. Please be sure all time slots are filled to give correct veneration to Our Lord. “Can you not watch one hour with Me?”  First Friday Mass follows Benediction at 6:30 PM.

Back to School Meeting Friday, September 1st at 7:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. This meeting is mandatory for all school parents.

Feast of St. Pius X, Sunday, September 3rd we will have Vespers and Benediction at 6:00 PM.

The Simeon and Anna Sodality (Nunc Dimittis, 50 +) will meet Saturday, September 2nd after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will meet in the Retreat Chapel to pray the Seven Sorrows devotions and prayers for the book intentions, followed by our meeting and refreshments in the Retreat Conference Room.

Ladies Day of Recollection will be held on Saturday, September 9th beginning after the 8:30 AM Mass and ending with Benediction at 3:00 PM. Lunch will be provided.

Catechism Registration: Catechism classes will begin Sunday, September 10, 2023 for all children not enrolled in Our Lady of Sorrows Academy. To register your child(ren), please contact Mr. Craig Wilkerson at: [email protected] or 951-377-9504.

Mexico Pilgrimage:  Anyone interested in the 7-Day Pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Mexico November 9 – 15, 2023 with Fr. Pons, please see the brochure in the vestibule and contact Rena Violette at 386-697-3804 as soon as possible. Space and time are limited!

The First Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Dominic Petersen of Warners, NY and Miss Maria Mariani, formerly of Our Lady of Sorrows, who plan to be married on September 23, 2023. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

St. Joseph Missals: Our Lady of Sorrows Academy is seeking donations of St. Joseph Daily Missals. If you have a missal that you are no longer using and would like to donate it, please place it in the box marked “Missals for OLOSA” on the table in the vestibule. Thank you for your generosity.
