Quinquagesima Sunday
Shrove Tuesday Parish Event: Join us this Tuesday, February 21st for a Holy Hour from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM in reparation for the sins committed during Carnival and in preparation for Lent, followed by dessert crepes and waffles, a bonfire, and socializing.
Ash Wednesday, February 22nd is a day of Fast (for those ages 18 - 60) and Abstinence (for those over age 7). Mass times will be at 5:45 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM. The 8:30 AM Academy Mass will be a High Mass. Ashes will be distributed at each Mass on Ash Wednesday and after each Mass on Sunday, March 6th for those not able to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.
Stations of the Cross will be at 6:00 PM on Friday during Lent.
Movie Night: The Nunc Dimittis invites all parishioners to a parish movie night on January 25th at 5:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center, featuring “For Greater Glory.” Please note that this movie is rated ‘R’ for war violence, so parental discretion is advised. The movie is free; snacks and beverages will be available to purchase. All donations benefit seminarians of the parish.
Parish Lenten Recollection: All parishioners are invited to a Lenten Recollection on Sunday, February 26th from 4:00 PM – 6:30 PM.
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: All women of the parish are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, February 28th at 7:00 PM in Boyle Hall.
Raffle for Altar Servers: The Holy Name Society is continuing to sell tickets for a fundraiser raffle to purchase new cassocks for our altar boys. The drawing will take place on Sunday, February 26th after the 8:30 AM High Mass. Tickets are $20. The grand prize is $1,000; second place prize is $250. If you haven’t purchased a ticket and would like to, tickets are sold after each Mass in Boyle Hall, or call/text Joe McCarthy (301-351-5070).

The Annual Parish Yard Sale will be held on Saturday, March 4th from 7:00 AM – 2:00 PM. Donations of usable items are needed and may be brought to the parish hall beginning February 26th. Please text/call Rena Violette (386-697-3804) if you can help sort items any time February 27th – March 3rd or to sell items on March 4th. Proceeds from the yard sale will go to the Building Fund, and all items not sold will be donated to the St. Vincent de Paul charity. Thank you for your continued support!
Academy Auction: Save the date for this year’s silent auction, to be held Sunday, March 19th on the church grounds from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM. We invite all parishioners to come socialize, bid on some fabulous items, enjoy light refreshments, and support our parish school.
Sunday Brunch for the Priory: Volunteers are needed for Sundays in March and April, to prepare brunch for our Priests and Religious.
