Candlemas Day
Please pray for the repose of the soul of James Slovik, who died on January 27, 2025. The funeral will be Friday, February 7th here at Our Lady of Sorrows. Rosary at 9:30 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:00 AM. Burial at Holy Cross Cemetery immediately after Mass.
No First Friday Adoration due to the funeral. Benediction will be at 5:45 PM followed by Mass at 6:30 PM.
Blessing of Throats for the Feast of St. Blaise on Monday, February 3rd after both Masses.
Holy Name Society meeting Wednesday, February 5th at 6:30 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Fr. Pons will give a conference, with discussion and refreshments following. All men of the parish are encouraged to attend.
Third Order Spiritual Conference will be held Saturday, February 8th at 9:30 AM in the Church. All parishioners who are members of a Third Order (SSPX, Dominican, Franciscan, Benedictine, Carmelite) are encouraged to attend.
Second Collection schedule: February 9th to benefit the Building Fund; February 16th for the Consoling Sisters Foundation. Thank you for your generosity.
Adult Confirmation Class: All adults being confirmed and not in the convert class are required to attend a preparation class on Sunday February 9th at 10:15 AM in the Performing Arts Center.
Children of Mary Bake Sale: The Children of Mary will be selling baked goods and crafts on Sunday, February 9th after all Masses, to raise funds for the group activities and outings. Thank you for your support!
Mission Santa Maria Mass Time Change: Beginning Sunday, February 16, 2025, the weekly Mass at Mission Santa Maria in Dewey, AZ will be at 10:00 AM every Sunday.
Confirmations: Bishop Fellay will administer Confirmation here at Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday, February 16, 2025 at 3:00 PM. Any adult or child not enrolled in the Sunday Catechism class or Our Lady of Sorrows Academy needing to be confirmed should contact the church office and complete the Confirmation Registration form found in the vestibule as soon as possible.
Academy Winter Soirée: Parishioners are invited to Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s Dinner, Dance and Auction on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Garden Tuscana Reception Hall in Mesa. This fundraiser will help fund the Academy’s campus expansion. The event will include live music, dinner, drinks, silent & live auctions, raffle baskets and more! Volleyball Tournament: Our Lady of Sorrows is hosting its 4th Annual Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with both men’s and women’s divisions. Players must be at least 14.
