Second Sunday after Epiphany
Funeral for Wilma Moore will be Tuesday, January 21st at 9:30 AM here at Our Lady of Sorrows.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Tomasa Vidales, who died on January 10, 2025. The funeral will be Thursday, January 23rd here at Our Lady of Sorrows. Visitation and rosary in the church at 9:45 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:30 AM. Burial at Resthaven Cemetery immediately following Mass.
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: All women of the parish are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, January 21st at 7:00 PM in Boyle Hall. Fr. Pons will give a talk, we will discuss upcoming parish events, then will end with a social hour. Please bring a snack, dessert, or drink to share.
Third Order of St. Francis monthly meeting will take place Saturday, January 25th in Boyle Hall. The meeting for all members will begin immediately following the 7:30 AM Mass, followed by instructions for new members. Confirmations: Bishop Fellay will administer Confirmation here at Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Any adult or child not enrolled in the Sunday Catechism class or Our Lady of Sorrows Academy needing to be confirmed should contact the church office and complete the Confirmation Registration form found in the vestibule as soon as possible.
Academy Winter Soirée: Parishioners are invited to Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s Dinner, Dance and Auction on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Garden Tuscana Reception Hall in Mesa. This fundraiser will help fund the Academy’s campus expansion. The event will include live music, dinner, drinks, silent & live auctions, raffle baskets and more! Volleyball Tournament: Our Lady of Sorrows is hosting its 4th Annual Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with both men’s and women’s divisions. Players must be at least 14. Sunday Brunch for the Priory: Volunteers are needed to prepare Sunday Brunch for the Priory. Please show your appreciation to our Priests and Religious by cooking one meal for them! Altar Flowers Donations: Donation envelopes for purchasing the flowers on the altar can be found in the vestibule. Each envelope is for one week (now through April), and lists the Feasts celebrated during that week. You may contribute any or all amount of the flower cost for that week. If interested, please take one envelope and return it to either the Sunday collection basket or to the church office. We are grateful for your generosity.
