Third Sunday after Epiphany
The Simeon and Anna Sodality (Nunc Dimittis, 50 +) will meet Saturday, February 1st after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will meet in the Retreat Chapel to pray the Seven Sorrows devotions and prayers for the book intentions, followed by our meeting and refreshments in Boyle Hall.
Bookstore: Beeswax candles are now for sale in the bookstore, to be blessed on the Feast of the Purification (Candlemas), February 2nd.
Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary: There will only be two Masses on Sunday, February 2nd at 7:30 AM and 10:00 AM. The Blessing of Candles and a procession around the church will take place at the 10:00 AM High Mass. Please bring any candles you wish to be blessed to the Sacristy before the 10:00 AM Mass.
Adult Confirmation Class: All adults being confirmed and not in the convert class are required to attend a preparation class on Sunday February 9th at 10:15 AM in the Performing Arts Center.
Children of Mary Bake Sale: The Children of Mary will be selling baked goods and crafts on Sunday, February 9th after all Masses, to raise funds for the group activities and outings. Thank you for your support!
The Third Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Rodger Alan Sorrells of Paxico, KS and Miss Melissa Ann Ouverson of St. Marys, KS, formerly of Our Lady of Sorrows, who plan to be married on February 1, 2025 at The Immaculata. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

Confirmations: Bishop Fellay will administer Confirmation here at Our Lady of Sorrows on Sunday, February 16, 2025. Any adult or child not enrolled in the Sunday Catechism class or Our Lady of Sorrows Academy needing to be confirmed should contact the church office and complete the Confirmation Registration form found in the vestibule as soon as possible.
Mission Santa Maria Mass Time Change: Beginning Sunday, February 16, 2025, the weekly Mass at Mission Santa Maria in Dewey, AZ will be at 10:00 AM every Sunday.
Academy Winter Soirée: Parishioners are invited to Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s Dinner, Dance and Auction on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at the Garden Tuscana Reception Hall in Mesa. This fundraiser will help fund the Academy’s campus expansion. The event will include live music, dinner, drinks, silent & live auctions, raffle baskets and more! Volleyball Tournament: Our Lady of Sorrows is hosting its 4th Annual Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, March 8, 2025, with both men’s and women’s divisions. Players must be at least 14. Sunday Brunch for the Priory: Volunteers are urgently needed to prepare Sunday Brunch for the Priory. Please show your appreciation to our Priests and Religious by cooking one meal for them! Altar Flowers Donations: Donation envelopes for purchasing the flowers on the altar can be found in the vestibule. Each envelope is for one week (now through April), and lists the Feasts celebrated during that week. You may contribute any or all amount of the flower cost for that week. If interested, please take one envelope and return it to either the Sunday collection basket or to the church office. We are grateful for your generosity.
