Bookstore: Purchase beeswax candles (votives and tapers) in the bookstore today, to be blessed on the Feast of the Purification (Candlemas), February 2nd.
Women’s Marian Retreat starts Wednesday. Please keep silence on the retreat grounds this week and keep the retreatants in your prayers.
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Joyce Wilhelm, who died on January 25th. The funeral will be Wednesday, February 1st here at Our Lady of Sorrows. Visitation in the church at 9:30 AM, rosary at 10:00 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:30 AM.
Holy Name Society meeting Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Fr. McFarland will give a conference, with discussion and refreshments following. All men interested in learning more about the Holy Name Society are encouraged to attend.
Feast of the Purification of the Blessed Virgin Mary: Thursday, February 2nd 8:30 AM Mass will be a Sung Mass, with the Blessing of Candles.
No All Day Adoration on Friday, February 3rd. Benediction will begin at 5:45 PM, followed by First Friday Mass at 6:30 PM.
The Simeon and Anna Sodality (Nunc Dimittis, 50 +) will meet Saturday, February 4th after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will meet in the Retreat Chapel to pray the Seven Sorrows devotions and prayers for the book intentions, followed by our meeting and refreshments in Boyle Hall.
Shrove Tuesday Parish Event: Plan to join us on Tuesday, February 21st for an evening of crepes, waffles, and more! Details to follow.
Parish Lenten Recollection: All parishioners are invited to a Lenten Recollection on Saturday, February 25th from 8:30 AM - Noon.

Raffle for Altar Servers: The Holy Name Society is continuing to sell tickets for a fundraiser raffle throughout the month of January. Tickets are $20 and only 250 tickets will be sold. The grand prize is $1,000; second place prize is $250. All proceeds of the raffle will be used to purchase new cassocks and surplices for our altar boys. The drawing will now take place in February.
OLOS Volleyball Tournament: Our Lady of Sorrows is hosting its 2nd Annual Volleyball Tournament on February 25, 2023, with both a Men’s and Women’s Division. Players must be at least 14.
