Holy Name Society meeting Wednesday, July 3rd at 6:30 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Fr. McFarland will give a conference, with discussion and refreshments following. All men of the parish are encouraged to attend.
All Day Adoration on Friday, July 5th begins after 8:30 AM Mass and ends with Rosary and Benediction at 5:45 PM. Sign-up sheet is in the vestibule. Please be sure all time slots are filled to give correct veneration to Our Lord. “Can you not watch one hour with Me?” First Friday Mass follows Benediction at 6:30 PM.
The Simeon and Anna Sodality (Nunc Dimittis, 50 +) will meet Saturday, July 6th after the 8:30 AM Mass. We will meet in the Retreat Chapel to pray the Seven Sorrows devotions and prayers for the book intentions, followed by our meeting and refreshments in Boyle Hall.
Altar Flowers Donations: Donation envelopes for purchasing the flowers on the altar can be found in the vestibule. Each envelope is for one week, and lists the Feasts celebrated during that week. You may contribute any or all amount of the flower cost for that week. If interested, please take one envelope and return it to either the Sunday collection basket or to the church office. We are grateful for your generosity.
Church Cleaning Volunteers Needed: Many volunteers are currently needed to help with several small, easy cleaning tasks. The only requirement is to be able to clean one area of the church once a month, according to your schedule. Contact Mrs. Elizabeth Papandrea at 480-244-1516 for more information and to volunteer. Existing volunteers should also contact Mrs. Papandrea to confirm or change your cleaning assignment.
The Second Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. William Guinea of Phoenix, AZ, and Miss Bernadette Henry of Phoenix, AZ, who plan to be married at Our Lady of Sorrows on July 12, 2024. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.
Archery Summer Schedule: All current archers, boys and girls grades 4-12, are welcome to come to any of the scheduled shoot times:
Tuesdays & Saturdays, 9:15 AM – 10:30 AM
Thursdays, 7:15 PM – 8:30 PM
New Archers: Archery is now open to any 4th – 12th grade boy or girl in the parish. If interested in joining archery, please contact Miss Sarah Delmanowski ([email protected]). All new archers must first attend Basic Instruction Training (two one-hour classes) taught by Br. Benedict, prior to participating in summer shoots.
Summer Movies in the PAC: Join us Saturday, July 13th at 4:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center for a showing of the movie Robin Hood (1952), starring Richard Todd. Pizza, drinks and dessert will be available for purchase in Boyle Hall after the movie. Proceeds will go toward the All Saints Day Party expenses. Save the date for upcoming movie showings: July 20th and July 27th.
