Third Sunday of Lent
Thank you to everyone who donated, worked, or supported the annual parish yard sale. It was a great success, raising $3,500 for the church building fund, and donating a truckload to St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Cavaliers Baseball: All parishioners are invited to the Academy’s home games this week: Monday, March 13th at 6:30 PM and Thursday, March 16th at 6:30 PM.
Stations of the Cross will be at 6:00 PM on Friday during Lent.
Holy Hour for Mothers: Please join us on Friday, March 17th from 10:00 - 11:00 AM in the church as we spend an hour with Our Lord praying for parish vocations and the intentions of our families. All mothers are welcome!
Second Collection schedule: March 19th to benefit the Consoling Sisters’ Foundation. Thank you for your generosity.
Auction: Please join us next Sunday, March 19th on the church grounds from 8:00 AM – 1:00 PM for Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s silent auction. We will have some fabulous items to bid on, great food and drinks, and fun for the children. Come out to support our parish school and socialize with fellow parishioners! Movie Night: The Nunc Dimittis invites all parishioners to a parish movie night on March 25th at 5:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center, featuring “The Passion of the Christ.” Please note that this movie is rated ‘R’, so parental discretion is advised. The movie is free; snacks and beverages will be available to purchase. All donations benefit seminarians of the parish.
Confirmations: Bishop Tissier de Mallerais will administer Confirmation here at Our Lady of Sorrows on Friday, May 19, 2023. The ceremony will be in the evening. Specific details will be provided in the coming months. Any adult needing to be confirmed should contact Fr. Pons as soon as possible.
March 17th Dispensation: H.E. John Dolan, Bishop of Phoenix, has granted to all Catholics of the Diocese of Phoenix a dispensation from abstinence from meat on the Feast of St. Patrick, Friday, March 17, 2023. All who make use of this dispensation are to engage in another sacrificial or charitable act that day.
Easter Duty Reminder: All baptized Catholics of age are obliged to receive Holy Communion worthily at least once during Easter time, which runs from the First Sunday of Lent to Trinity Sunday.
