Quinquagesima Sunday
Shrove Tuesday Parish Event: Please join us on Tuesday, March 4th for a Holy Hour from 5:30 PM - 6:30 PM, followed by dessert crepes and waffles, a bonfire, and socializing. Ash Wednesday, March 5th is a day of Fast (for those ages 18 - 60) and Abstinence (for those over age 7). Mass times will be at 5:45 AM, 7:30 AM, 8:30 AM and 6:30 PM. The 8:30 AM Academy Mass will be a High Mass. Ashes will be distributed at each Mass on Ash Wednesday and after each Mass on Sunday, March 9th for those not able to receive ashes on Ash Wednesday.
No All-Day Adoration on Friday, March 7th. Benediction will be at 5:45 PM followed by First Friday Mass at 6:30 PM.
Fish Fridays: Every Friday at 6:30 PM during Lent, fish tacos and fish & chips will be served in Boyle Hall. All are invited. Proceeds will go towards tuition expenses for Our Lady of Sorrows seminarians. Thank you for your support and generosity!
Cavaliers Baseball: All parishioners are invited to the Academy’s first home game, Friday, March 7th at 6:30 PM.
Perpetual Adoration, Saturday, March 8th starting after 8:30 AM Mass, ending with Benediction at 6:00 PM. A sign-up sheet is in the vestibule. In 1989, the Society of St. Pius X started Perpetual Adoration in which the Blessed Sacrament remains exposed at some house of the Society throughout the world every day for the faithful to pray for the following intentions:
- The return of Rome and the bishops to the traditional doctrine of the Church.
- The sanctification of priests and candidates for the priesthood.
- The awakening of priestly and religious vocations.
Second Collection schedule: March 9th to benefit the Building Fund; March 16th for the Consoling Sisters Foundation. Thank you for your generosity.
Parish Lenten Recollection: All parishioners are invited to a Lenten Recollection on Sunday, March 9th from 3:00 PM – 5:30 PM.
40 Days for Life Lenten Campaign is March 5 – April 13, 2025. Come protect mothers and children by praying and fasting for an end to abortion! Parish vigils will be held Saturdays 9:00 – 10:00 AM at 1331 N. 7th Street, Phoenix. Sign up for an hour or more: https://www.40daysforlife.com/en/phoenix.

Father-Son Bags Tournament: Please join the men and sons (ages 6+) of Our Lady of Sorrows for a Father-Son Bags Tournament sponsored by the Holy Name Society, on Saturday, March 29th at 9:00 AM on the field. This is a free event for fathers and sons to create a family team to compete against other families. Bring your own food and drinks for the event.
