Matrimony Retreat starts Wednesday. Please keep silence on the retreat grounds this week. Please keep the retreatants in your prayers.
Ember Days: Traditional days of fast and partial abstinence are Wednesday, Friday (complete abstinence), and Saturday, May 22nd, 24th and 25th. This observance was originally instituted to encourage the faithful to pray and do penance for new priests. Please offer your prayers and sacrifices on these days that God may inspire more men to offer themselves for this holy ministry and for the perseverance of those already ordained.
The Third Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Damon Softcheck of Phoenix, AZ and Miss Maria Petsch of Phoenix, AZ, who plan to be married on May 25, 2024. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.
Third Order of St. Francis monthly meeting will take place Saturday, May 25th in the Performing Arts Center. The meeting for all members will begin immediately following the 7:30 AM Mass, followed by instructions for new members. Easter Duty Reminder: All baptized Catholics of age are obliged to receive Holy Communion worthily at least once during Easter time, which runs from the First Sunday of Lent to Trinity Sunday (May 26th).
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: All women of the parish are invited to a meeting on Tuesday, May 28th at 7:00 PM in Boyle Hall. Fr. Pons will give a talk, we will discuss upcoming parish events, then will end with a social hour. Please bring a snack, dessert, or drink to share.
Academy Graduation Mass: Saturday, June 1st at 9:30 AM, followed by the graduation ceremony in the Performing Arts Center. All are invited.
Mass Schedule Change: On Sunday, June 2nd we will have only two Masses (at 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM) in honor of the Feast of Corpus Christi and procession.
Heat Relief Drive: OLOS Theosis (Young Adult Group, ages 18-30) will be hosting a ‘heat relief item’ drive to support the homeless served by Central Arizona Shelter Services (CASS). Re-useable water bottles, bottled water, hats, sunscreen, etc. are needed to help preserve the lives of our homeless neighbors as the heat rises. Donations will be accepted in Boyle Hall on Sunday, June 2nd. Contact [email protected] with questions or if you would like to join the group.
Mexico Pilgrimage: Registration brochures for the October 7-14, 2024 pilgrimage to Our Lady of Guadalupe and the Cristero Saints from Mexico City to Guadalajara, Mexico are in the vestibule. Fr. Pons will celebrate Mass and give spiritual talks daily. Enjoy SSPX fellowship and local culture while touring and praying in historical churches or at apparition and Cristero sites, learn church history from our special guest Mr. Alexander Becker, and more!
