Please pray for the repose of the soul of Mrs. Geraldine Ulrich, who died recently. Visitation and rosary on Tuesday, November 17th at 7:30 PM at Shadow Mountain Mortuary. Funeral on Wednesday, November 18th at 10:30 AM, followed by burial at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona at 1:00 PM.
Ladies Auxiliary Meeting: All women of the parish (18+) are graciously invited to join the Ladies Auxiliary for a year of priestly conferences, volunteer opportunities, and social hours. The next meeting will be held this Tuesday, November 17th at 7:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. The evening will start with a spiritual conference from Fr. Pons on the topic of Womanhood, followed by a report on upcoming parish events and volunteer opportunities. The night will conclude with a social hour. Come alone or come with friends and please bring a snack, dessert, or drink to share! Nursing mothers are more than welcome.
Father/Son Bonfire & Campout: Trail Life Troop AZ-1571 invites all boys and their fathers (or father-figures) of the parish to an evening bonfire and campout, Friday, November 20th at 6:00 PM on the Academy Field. Enjoy a night together letting boys be boys by the light of an open fire and under the stars. $8/person. Bring your own tent/shelter. Second Collection schedule: November 22nd for Our Lady of Sorrows Altar Servers, in thanksgiving and support of their annual outing. Thank you for your generosity.
Parish Bake-Off: Join us for the 8th Annual Parish Bake-Off, Sale and Auction next Sunday, November 22nd. 1st, 2nd and 3rd place prizes will be awarded for pies, cakes, breads, and cookies/bars. Two entries of the same item (cake, pie, or bread) and four dozen cookies/bars are requested for submission – one for the judges and one to be auctioned. We also welcome goodies to be sold from anyone who does not want to enter the contest. Please call/text Rena Violette, 386-697-3804, with questions. Our Lady of Sorrows Academy’s eleventh annual Jog-A-Thon will be held on Wednesday, November 25. Please consider sponsoring one of our Priests or Brothers with a per-lap pledge or a one-time donation. Pledge forms can be found in the vestibule. The Ladies Auxiliary will hold a Christmas boutique and display a Christmas Giving tree on November 29th and December 6th. The proceeds benefit families/parishioners in need. We are asking for donations of Christmas crafts, gifts and baked goods to sell. All donations can be turned in at the Church office. Please contact Jamie McQuillin (480-330-3057) to help. Meals for the Priory: Additional volunteers are needed to prepare Sunday Brunch for the Priory for the remainder of this year. This is a great opportunity to express your appreciation to our Priests and Religious, by cooking just one meal for them. Thank you to all who have already volunteered!
