Seventeenth Sunday after Pentecost
Please pray for the repose of the soul of Helen Petersen (parishioner of Mission Santa Maria), who died on September 25th. The viewing will be Wednesday, October 8th from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Whitney & Murphy funeral Home in Phoenix, with rosary at 6:00 PM. The funeral will be Thursday, October 9th at 11:00 AM here at Our Lady of Sorrows, followed by burial at St. Francis Cemetery in Phoenix.
Sung Mass at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 7th for the Feast of the Most Holy Rosary.
Rosary Procession: Tuesday, October 7th at 2:30 PM beginning at the school gates and processing around the church property. All are invited to join in honoring Our Lady on this feast of the rosary.
Third Order Spiritual Conference will be held Saturday, October 11th at 9:30 AM in Boyle Hall. All parishioners who are members of a Third Order (SSPX, Dominican, Franciscan, Benedictine, Carmelite) are encouraged to attend.
Second Collection schedule: October 12th to benefit the Building Fund; October 19th for the Consoling Sisters Foundation. Thank you for your generosity.
Mass Schedule Change: On Sunday, October 26th we will have only two Masses (at 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM) in honor of the Feast of Christ the King. An outdoor procession will begin at 9:30 AM.
Flowers for Our Lady: We are grateful for the many flowers placed at Our Lady’s statues. Please pick up your vase from the box in the vestibule (near the holy water font) when the flowers have been removed. Also, please do not leave potted plants/flowers at the statues, since we are not able to properly care for them.
Sunday Brunch for the Priory: Volunteers are needed to prepare Sunday Brunch for the Priory. Please show your appreciation to our Priests and Religious by cooking one meal for them! The Annual All Saints Parish Festival will be Saturday, November 1st from 4:00 – 8:00 PM. Children are invited to dress as their favorite Saint and we will have a potluck dinner, Saint themed carnival games, bounce houses and much more fun! Donations of candy and small religious prizes for the children can be placed in the bins in the vestibule. Email [email protected] with any questions or to volunteer to help.
2025 OLS Bags Tournament: Men ages 16+ are invited to a Bags Tournament sponsored by the Holy Name Society, on Saturday, November 8th at 10:00 AM. This is an all-day men's event including food, drinks, cigars, a cornhole tournament, and much more. We will honor all veterans during the event, and all veterans, active military, and first responders play for free. Pre-registration for a two-man team is $80/team. Registration on the day of the event for a two-man team is $100/team. Registration includes breakfast, lunch, and drinks. A registration table will be available after Mass.
