Eighteenth Sunday after Pentecost

Women’s Ignatian Retreat starts tomorrow. Please keep silence on the retreat grounds this week. Please keep the retreatants in your prayers.

Please pray for the repose of the soul of Jeanette Black, who died on October 1st. The funeral will be Monday, October 10th here at Our Lady of Sorrows. Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM, followed by a Requiem Mass at 10:00 AM.

Medicare Insurance Presentation: On Saturday, October 22nd a representative from HealthMarkets Insurance will present “Medicare 101” to educate parishioners who are Medicare eligible, or soon to be eligible, about how Medicare works. He will discuss eligibility requirements, benefits, and pricing; there is no obligation to obtain insurance. The presentation will be in the Performing Arts Center at 10:00 AM. Breakfast will be served after the 8:30 AM Mass.

The First Banns of Marriage are announced for Mr. Rhomel Horne of Phoenix, AZ and Miss Michelle Mule of Phoenix, AZ, who plan to be married on October 25, 2022. Any persons knowing of any impediment to this union are obliged in conscience to notify the pastor as soon as possible.

Movie Night: The Nunc Dimittis group will sponsor a parish movie night on the last Saturday of each month, beginning October 29th with “The Scarlet and the Black.” The movie begins at 5:00 PM in the Performing Arts Center. Pizza, popcorn, and beverages will be provided. Donations will benefit seminarians of the parish.

Mass Schedule Change: On Sunday, October 30th we will have only two Masses (at 8:00 AM and 11:30 AM) in honor of the Feast of Christ the King. An outdoor procession will begin around 9:30 AM.

All Saints Day: Please join us for the Annual All Saints Day Party on Saturday, November 5th.  We are in need of volunteers, ages 13 and older, to help this event run smoothly. OLOS Bags (Cornhole) Tournament: Please join the men of Our Lady of Sorrows, ages 12 and up, for a Bags (Cornhole) Tournament sponsored by the Holy Name Society, on Saturday, November 12th. This is an all-day men's event including Mass, food, conference, a cornhole tournament, and much more. Our Lady of Sorrows Academy will hold its 13th Annual Jog-A-Thon on Wednesday, November 23rd. Please consider sponsoring one of our Priests or Brothers with a per-lap pledge or a one-time donation. Christmas Boutique: The Ladies Auxiliary and Young Adult Group will hold a Christmas boutique on November 27th and December 4th. Proceeds benefit parishioners/families in need. We are asking for donations of Christmas crafts and gifts to sell. All donations can be turned in to the church office. For questions/details please contact Molly Forsythe (405-952-4001).

Christmas Giving Tree will be on display during the Christmas Boutique. The ornaments on this tree will list specific items needed by one of our parishioners, particularly at Christmas.
